The 1 ounce 2022 Krugerrand silver coin is a product of the South African mint which one of the oldest mints on earth. During the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Gold Krugerrand, the South African Mint announced the launch of the first-ever silver coin from the mint. This was exciting news to investors because it gave them options when buying South African bullion coins. The South African mint released its first-ever silver coin in 2017. Since then the 1 ounce Krugerrand silver coin has become one of the most popular bullion coins among investors.
Each Krugerrand in silver bears the traditional springbok antelope on the motif side as it gallops across the South African savannah on the front. The year of issue, the name of the silver coin and the fine weight (1 oz) are also embossed here. It is particularly worth mentioning that the abbreviation "R1" can also be seen. This stands for 1 South African Rand. Unlike the golden sister coin, the Krugerrand silver has an official face value (although the golden variant is also legal tender).
